What this site
does and doesn’t collect.

Social Barber Society (socialbarber.co) is a static website for a barber shop at 1897 E Big Beaver Rd, Suite 48, Troy, MI 48083. Appointment booking is provided by an embedded Square booking page. When you open the booking modal, your browser connects to Square. Square handles the information you enter in its booking flow under its own privacy policy. This page describes what this site itself does. Last updated 20 October 2026.

Analytics

The site uses three third-party analytics tools to understand how it’s used and to improve it:

Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) records page views and basic interactions such as clicks on the booking button. It sets cookies in your browser to recognise a returning visit. Google’s policies: privacy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) records how visitors use the site — page views, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement — in the form of heatmaps and anonymised session recordings. Clicking a booking button also sends a custom event named book_now, without appointment details or personal information. Text you type is masked and it does not have access to the contents of the embedded Square booking page. Clarity sets cookies and may use the data to improve its own products and, per Microsoft, for advertising. Microsoft’s privacy statement. Clarity loads a couple of seconds after the page does.

Ahrefs Web Analytics (Ahrefs Pte. Ltd.) counts page views and where visits come from — page address, referring site, browser, screen size, language and approximate location. It sets no cookies and does not store IP addresses. Ahrefs’ privacy policy.

Fonts

The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Google’s note on Fonts and privacy.

Links to other services

Booking is handled by Square. Other links take you to Booksy (reviews), Instagram, and Google Maps. Once you’re there, their policies apply, not this one. Square provides appointment details to the business so it can manage your booking. This website does not store the information you enter in the Square booking flow.

Cookies and opting out

This site uses GA4 and Clarity cookies; Ahrefs Web Analytics is cookieless. The embedded Square booking flow may also use cookies under Square’s policy. Blocking them in your browser, or with a content blocker, doesn’t affect anything on the site. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Analytics, and Clarity honours “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals where your browser sends them.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which logs requests (IP address, user agent, pages fetched) for operational purposes under GitHub’s privacy statement.

Questions

Message on Instagram or call (586) 393-2855. If you’d like anything about your visit removed from the analytics tools, say so and we’ll ask them to delete it.
